Leslie Mays is a partner in Mercer’s talent business, responsible for strengthening the firm’s talent portfolio by broadening its talent processes in the face of significant business trends and market forces, and diversity and inclusion capabilities, while helping to amplify its When Women Thrive global initiative. Mays has been a pioneer in the application of advanced workforce analytics ensuring that diversity and inclusion and talent strategies are evidence-based and rooted in the business. Mays has more than 20 years of human resources leadership experience, most recently serving as vice president, global inclusion and talent management at Avon Products. At Avon, she led the creation and implementation of the company’s first global women’s strategy, resulting in global flexible work policies, a new employee value proposition and a greater focus on strengthening the talent pipeline of women for leadership roles. Earlier in her career, Mays established, led and managed HR change strategies for several companies, including Pfizer Inc., Royal Dutch Shell and General Mills. At Kimberly-Clark Corporation, she served as diversity and inclusion strategy advisor to the company’s corporate executive team and board. Mays earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Texas Southern University. She is a member of the Executive Leadership Council and the American Leadership Forum and serves as a board member of the Girl Scouts Council of Greater New York.
