As senior vice president, general merchandise manager for consumables and OTC for Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Latriece Watkins drives merchandising strategies in beauty, personal care, household paper and chemicals, and over-the-counter drugs. Watkins joined Wal-Mart Stores Inc. as an intern in the real estate division in 1997 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in operations and merchandising, including vice president and divisional merchandise manager of adult beverages, where she established Walmart as a market leader. In 2014, she was promoted to senior vice president and general merchandise manager of snacks and beverages and adult beverages. She spent the next year in a unique role supporting the Walmart Enterprise Strategy by leading the Ways of Working work stream, a role designed to define how associates work together across the company to achieve shared business goals. She was instrumental in helping to align the company’s culture to its core values. Watkins holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Spelman College and a juris doctorate degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law.
